The 2014 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) will be held in the beautiful city of Sydney, Australia between 10 and 14 June 2014. The theme of this flagship conference of IEEE Communications Society for 2014 is “Communications: The Centrepoint of the Digital Economy.” The conference will feature a comprehensive technical program including twelve Symposia and a number of Tutorials and Workshops. IEEE ICC 2014 will also include an attractive expo program including keynote speakers, and Industry Forum & Exhibitions (IF&E). We invite you to submit your original technical papers, industry forum, workshop, and tutorial proposals to this event. Scope and Topics of Interest

Social networks have become prevalent forms of communication and interaction on the Internet and make up an increasingly part of the network traffic. As a result, social networks have attracted significant research interests in a large number of related areas. Social networks have traditional been studied outside of the technological domains, but focus is now changing towards networking challenges such as cloud, privacy, data analytics, etc. while still keeping the social perspective such as focusing on improving quality-of-life. The interplay between social networks and technological networks such as mobile networks and mobile computing is becoming still strong and many areas are still to be exploited.

The topics of interest for this track include (but are not limited to):

• Influence, reputation, recommendation, community structure, advertisement, etc. based on social network modeling and analysis, measurements, and experiments, for big data from large social networks
• Analytical techniques as a foundation to enable social networks of massive networked (big) data (e.g., belief and message propagation, computational intelligence and machine learning, game and economical analysis, graph theoretical analysis)
• Trusted networking, privacy and security, user behaviors and dynamics, and digital right management, for big data from social networks • System architecture, protocols, middleware and software engineering, terminal technology, user experience and interface technology, deployment and operations, and standards, for social networks
• Social networks applications and services to mobile Internet, multimedia networks, mobile-commerce, cyber-physical systems, and their potential social, economic, and cultural impacts
• Interplay between social networks and physical communications, such as deriving social interactions from (mobile) communication networks, and social network characterization from wireless communication theory
• Social networks influence on (wireless) communications systems and networks and subsequent new design paradigm of future (wireless) communications
• Applications of large social network analysis and relational structure of social networks to design advanced wireless communication networks, and interplay with network science areas such as physics and biology

Neeli Rashmi Prasad, Ph.D., Director of CTIF-USA, Princeton, USA. She is the Head of Research and Coordinator of Themantic area Network without Borders, Center for TeleInfrastruktur (CTIF), Aalborg University, Aalborg and leading IoT Testbed at Easy Life Lab (M2M and eHealth) and Secure Cognitive radio network testbed at S-Cogito Lab (Network Management, Security, Planning, etc.). She also setup the IP Mobility lab.She is IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer for 2013 and 2014.She has many chapters and co-edited 2 books and has over 150 papers in international peer-reviewed Journals and conferences. She has organized and chaired many panels, workshops and given tutorials. She is and has been in the organization and TPC member of several international conferences, e.g. PIMRC 1995 Student volunteer chair, VTC 1999 co-secretary to TPC chairs, WPMC 2005, 2007, 2010 TPC co-chair, WPMC 2012 Track chair, Wireless Vitae 2009, 2011 & 2013 TPC co-chair, Mobisec co-founding TPC chair 2009, 2010 and Local Program chair 2011, IEEE Globecom 2011 Social Networks Symposium Chair, 9th Future Internet Week and Future Internet Assembly May 2012 Organizing Chair, IEEE SmartGridComm 2012 Keynote/Panel co-chair, Wireless Vitae 2013. She has over 14 years of management and research experience both in industry and academia. She has gained a large and strong experience into the research, management and project coordination of EU-funded and Industrial research projects. She joined Libertel (now Vodafone NL), The Netherlands in 1997. Till May 2001, she worked at Wireless LANs in Wireless Communications and Networking Division of Lucent Technologies, The Netherlands. From June 2001 to July 2003, she was with T-Mobile Netherlands, The Netherlands. Subsequently, from July 2003 to April 2004, at PCOM:I3, Aalborg, Denmark. She has been involved in a number of EU-funded R&D projects as Coordinator and/or Leader, including FP7 STREP BETaaS, FP7 CIP-PSP LIFE 2.0, FP7 IP ISISEMD, FP7 IP ASPIRE, FP7 IP FUTON, FP6 IP eSENSE, FP6 NoE CRUISE, FP6 IP MAGNET and FP6 IP Magnet Beyond as the latest ones. She was also the leader of EC Cluster for Mesh and Sensor Networks. She is the co-author of term of reference for European Commission Future Internet Assembly (EC FIA) and co-founding caretaker of FIA Real World Internet group. She is Counselor of IEEE Student Branch, Aalborg. She is the co-editor is chief of Journal for Cyber Security and Mobility by River Publishers.
